Wheyrigg Hall Hotel - A splendid 3 diamond hotel on the Solway Plain close to the lakes, hills and Carlisle. Also close to the Scottish borders, Gretna Green and the Roman wall, river and badlands. Wheyrigg Hall is a family run hotel bar and restaurant set in a rural location. Originally an old farmhouse, the hotel has been converted to provide comfortable accommodation. There is ample car parking and there are two separate function rooms providing seating for fifty and one hundred people so the Wheyrigg Hall is an ideal venue for conferences, weddings or other family celebrations. There is also a spacious dining room, lounge and bar with a homely cottage atmosphere. Well known for its good food, not just locally, but much further afield in this country and abroad, Wheyriggs specialities include succulent duckling, traditional roasted turkey, baked ham in cider and local prime steaks. Home baking is a feature of our scrumptious sweet trolley and locally produced fresh vegetables are used whenever possible. Somerset House BandB - Somerset House is in the town centre, 10 minutes' walk from the railway station. With free Wi-Fi, all rooms are en suite and there is a licensed bar and bistro open until 22:00 every day. Families with children of all ages are welcome. Somerset House is also suitable for pets. You can also bring your bike to Somerset House, which is on the W2W Route 20 cycle route. Somerset House is close to all the amenities of Grange-over-Sands. The nearby railway station has direct links to Manchester Airport.

The Derby Arms - Perfectly situated in the Lake District National Park, The Derby Arms is a traditional country pub offering comfortable rooms, providing an ideal base from which to explore the South Lakes. Firgarth Guest House - This elegant Victorian house, built in Lakeland stone around 1875, offers views to the rear over Wynlass Beck, along with comfortable en suite rooms, a residents' lounge and private parking. Firgarth Guest House is conveniently situated just 12 minutes' walk from the centre of Windermere, which offers a range of shops, pubs and restaurants. The guest house has a great location, between the busy villages of Windermere and Bowness. It is a clean, comfortable and reasonably priced bed and breakfast, situated in the number one location within the English Lake District National Park: Windermere. The guest lounge is comfortable, with plenty of books and information on local walks, as well as a selection of games to keep you amused in the evenings. The traditional breakfast menu is all freshly prepared. There is a choice of orange juice, grapefruit, fresh fruit salad, cereals, yoghurt and a variety of cooked-to-order breakfasts. Rose Cottage - A relaxing retreat in the heart of the Lake District, this charming 16th century cottage is situated in the picturesque village of Bowness, one minute's walk from Lake Windermere. Just a short stroll away from Bowness's shops, caf?s, restaurants and attractions, Rose Cottage provides comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation. Please note that the cottage is bed and breakfast only, no additional meals can be provided. Still maintaining many of its original features, the house can be unsuitable for disabled guests or those who have trouble with stairs. Unfortunately no ground floor rooms are available. Parking is available at a nearby public car park. Permits are available from Rose Cottage. A refundable deposit of GBP 10 is required.

Strands Hotel - Strands Hotel/Inn was built in the eighteen hundreds. The building is nestling in the heart of Wasdale Valley, which has beautiful views of the surrounding fells. It is situated only a short walk from the Deepest Lake (Wastwater) in England, also the Highest Mountain (Scawfell) and the Smallest Church which is at Wasdale Head. Mark, Lesley and family have run this typical Lakeland Hotel since June 2006. Mark brews his own ales, our home cooked traditional food is very popular with visitors and locals.
