The Willowsmere - This guest house was built in the mid-19th century using Lakeland stone. In recent years, The Willowsmere has been tastefully restored and renovated to include luxuries you might not expect in a guest house. The Willowsmere has a large off-road car park and is 8 minutes' walk from Windermere centre and train station and 10 minutes' walk from Lake Windermere. Oakthorpe and Lamplighter Bar - In the heart of the town of Windermere, surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of the Lake District, this attractive Victorian building is now a family-owned guest house and pub. Close to all that the town has to offer, the Oakthorpe and Lamplighter Bar has a good location, only a two-minute walk from Windermere Railway Station and just off the A591, which runs right through the Lake District. Lake Windermere is just 5 minutes away by car or only a 15-minute stroll from the front door. There is a large, free car park. A range of accommodation is available to suit the needs and budget of any traveller. Some rooms have en suite bathrooms and rooms with shared bathroom facilities are also available. Delicious food and real ales are served in both the restaurant and the Lamplighter Bar. Seafood is a speciality, with fresh fish delivered daily from Fleetwood.

Westbury House - This 3-star rated, Lakeland-stone, Victorian house is set in a quiet side street, approximately 5 minutes' walk from the train/bus station. Jo and Alan offer quality accommodation and excellent value for money. They are very happy to advise you on any walks and have maps to assist you. They can also book you on to tours and make dinner reservations for you at one of the many excellent restaurants in the surrounding area, or beyond. The house is situated opposite Ellerthwaite Park and is a gentle 20-minute walk from Lake Windermere itself.

Low House - This 17th-century Lakeland country home offers delicious cooking, cosy open fires, free Wi-Fi and a warm welcome, all in a peaceful setting just 5 minutes from local amenities. Low House is located within a mile of Windermere and a few hundred metres from Windermere Golf Club. All the facilities of Windermere are 25 minutes' walk away. The house is filled with antiques, books and paintings, as well as modern, useful facilities. The bedrooms have king-size beds and Molton Brown toiletries.

Broadlands Guest House - Set in the heart of the Lake District, this traditional Lakeland stone Victorian house is ideally located on a peaceful road just 2 minutes from the centre of Windermere village. The house has lovely views overlooking Ellethwaite Park and is ideally located for visits to Bowness on Windermere and the Lake. Many grades of walks can be started from the house the staff are happy to advise you on them and offer maps and guides to help. Locally organised tours can also be arranged for you, with collection and drop-off at the property. Although not a hotel, Broadlands Guest House is proud to have been awarded '3 AA Yellow Stars Highly Commended', in July 2009. This award is given to the top 10% of 3-star Guest Accommodation. Guests are offered free car park passes for use whilst staying at Broadlands. These can be used in all SLDC car parks in the area.

The guest lounge is comfortable, with plenty of books and information on local walks, as well as a selection of games to keep you amused in the evenings. The traditional breakfast menu is all freshly prepared. There is a choice of orange juice, grapefruit, fresh fruit salad, cereals, yoghurt and a variety of cooked-to-order breakfasts. Each room is comfortable and well equipped, with a flat-screen TV, a DVD player and tea/coffee making facilities.

Rose Cottage - A relaxing retreat in the heart of the Lake District, this charming 16th century cottage is situated in the picturesque village of Bowness, one minute's walk from Lake Windermere. Just a short stroll away from Bowness's shops, caf?s, restaurants and attractions, Rose Cottage provides comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation. Please note that the cottage is bed and breakfast only, no additional meals can be provided. Still maintaining many of its original features, the house can be unsuitable for disabled guests or those who have trouble with stairs. Unfortunately no ground floor rooms are available.
