The Horse and Jockey Inn - Originally a 14th century coaching inn, the Horse & Jockey offers a warm and friendly atmosphere, owned by the same family since 1989. Situated in Knighton town, close to the Offa's Dyke Centre, the inn offers a cosy lounge bar with log fire and a main bar with weekend entertainment. At the end of the large courtyard is an 80 seater restaurant which offers an extensive menu. Owner and chef Gary Salt can cater for any occasion. Booking is essential at weekends.

The Horseshoe Guesthouse - In the old town area, just 5 minutes' walk from the River Wye, this 200-year-old Welsh stone building is rich in original character and traditional charm, with wood beams and exposed stonework. In the rural market town of Rhayader, known as the gateway to the Lakeland of Wales, the Horseshoe Guesthouse and Restaurant makes a great base from which to explore the region's magnificent mountains, valleys, woods and lakes. With original 18th-century timbers and a log fire, the lounges are furnished with deep comfortable chairs. The Horseshoe has been recently refurbished and now combines modern comforts and facilities with this lovely old building's historic character. New Hall Guesthouse - This licensed B&B on the edge of Llanwrtyd Wells has light and airy rooms with large en suite bathrooms. New Hall Guesthouse is a converted church meeting hall. Breakfasts can be large and traditional, vegetarian, continental or a mix of all three. Ingredients are locally sourced and organic wherever possible. Evening meals are available by arrangement. There is a ground-floor suite suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Liverpool House In Powys - Liverpool House is a large double fronted guest house with excellent accommodation, both with and without en suite. Situated in town, but with superb views of surrounding hills and countryside. This guest house is situated in the heart of Wales. Guests arriving at Liverpool House are assured of a warm welcome by the owner Mrs Ann Griffiths. Liverpool House has a total of 9 bedrooms (5 in the main house and 4 in the annexe. Colour television, beverage tray, hairdryer and iron in all rooms. All rooms are centrally heated and are on two floors. No two rooms are the same size or decor. Visitors have access to two lounge areas where they can talk or watch TV on the large TV sets available. Due to the new law it is now an offence to smoke in these premises. Pets are accepted by prior arrangement. Please note that, in the interests of other guests, dogs are not allowed in the dining room and lounges. Throughout the guest house, a very high standard of cleanliness is maintained. Private secure car park and locked accommodation for cycles are available. Groups and families are welcome.

Castle Inn - This small and friendly guest house is situated in an imposing 16th century stone-built building, ideally located in the heart of the Teme Valley in Wales on the English border. Castle Inn is a charming guest house offering comfortable accommodation with in-room amenities including a TV, DVD player and tea/coffee making facilities. The Coach House - The Coach House offers 5-star boutique town-house accommodation in Brecon, within the Brecon Beacons National Park. Hosts Marc and Tony will provide a warm welcome to their luxurious, contemporary accommodation. They have plenty of local knowledge and can tell you the best places to visit, whether you plan to walk, cycle or ride. The Coach House's rooms are newly fitted, and have light oak furniture, a flat-screen TV, throws and soft furnishings. A free beverage tray comes with fresh milk.

Ardwyn House - Ardwyn is a glorious Belle ?poque-style guest house built in the early 1900s. It has a creative atmosphere with plenty of arts and crafts. Art Nouveau touches from the roll top baths to the light fittings are found throughout the house. The period bedrooms have double-aspect views, stylish designs and good bathrooms. There is a library/snooker room with comfy chairs and many books. The Royal Welsh Show Ground is a 20-minute drive away, and Llanwrtyd Wells has plenty of opportunities for walking and mountain biking.

Guidfa House - In picturesque gardens, this charming Georgian house is in the village of Crossgates, just north of Llandrindod Wells. Bright and spacious bedrooms are individually furnished and include a ground-floor room. All rooms have comfy beds, huge fluffy bath towels, soft bathrobes and quality toiletries. Trained Cordon Bleu chef Anne prepares modern and traditional dishes that use fresh, local ingredients. The wine list has some new and interesting new choices for 2009. Dinner is available Wednesday to Saturday (if reserved at least 24 hours in advance). A selection of soups, freshly baked bread and cold platters is available on other nights.
