Cairnryan House- Set directly across from the shore of Loch Ryan, and boasting uninterrupted views, this licensed guest house is 500 metres from Cairnryan ferry terminal and 5 minutes from Stranraer terminal. Originally the Manse, the family-run Cairnryan House was built in 1894 and still retains many of its original features. All of the en suite rooms are non-smoking and furnished to a high standard, with plenty of features to ensure your comfort. Most of the rooms have views over Loch Ryan. Guests can sit in the beer garden with a drink, whilst watching the ferries go by. There is off-road parking for 10 cars. Unfortunately, children under 13 years cannot stay at Cairnryan House.

Several of our guest rooms have fine views of the Firth of Forth. Local amenities include a sport centre, swimming pool, and not far from Musselburgh, horse race course and golf clubs. Caledonian House- This B&B guest house is next to the 5 locks of the Caledonian Canal, walking distance from Fort Augustus. The village is part of the Great Glen Way. Caledonian House was originally built in the 1860s and was used as Campbell's Tea Room in the 1900s. It has a good location for exploring the sights of the Highlands, including Loch Ness and the islands of Syke, Mull, Iona and Rhum. There are plenty of outdoor activities and spectacular views for walkers. Caledonian House offers fishing trips and mountain-bike hire.

The Edinburgh Lodge- This central Edinburgh hotel is a 10-minute walk from Princes Street. Hosts Wilma and Jim have run 6 Caberfeidh as a B&B for 18 years and have many return-customers and friends. Jim has a taxi for tours and local runs and can help with local knowledge and advice on where to go for day trips etc. The cosy Tourist Board-rated establishment has en suite rooms, and offers a choice of vegetarian, continental and full Scottish breakfast. There is also a nice four-poster room with a corner bath and a view over the loch.

The Ferry Inn- The last hotel on the A9, The Ferry Inn at Scrabster is newly renovated and has wonderful sea views. Just north of Thurso, Scrabster Harbour is the gateway to the Orkney Islands.
