This 'disadvantage' does however mean that Oban's many shops, the distillery, the ferry terminals and stations are all within easy walking distance.

Drimsynie House Hotel - As the centre piece of the Drimsynie Estates, this impressive Scottish mansion overlooks its own 9-hole golf course and Loch Goil in the National Park. Just one mile away from the scenic village of Lochgoilhead, in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, the hotel presents itself as the ideal base for exploring beautiful western Scotland. Columba Hotel - This Victorian hotel was built in 1865 and 1901 of Scottish granite and sandstone. It stands as a landmark on the North Pier, overlooking the town and Oban Bay to the Isles of Kerrera, Mull and Lismore, and the Mountains of Morven.
